Calling all young artists! Little kids are naturally attracted to messy explorative play that engages all of their senses - it’s how they learn best! Let your child explore the world of color and art through playful and sensory experiences without sacrificing your kitchen to finger paint and slime. This special class for young artists ages 3-6, is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the wonder of art, making and creating. Classes will include storytime, “invitations to create” that focus on the discovery of using new art materials and a variety of exploratory (sometimes messy) hands-on sensory activities. Students will be exposed to the elements of art (line, color, shape, texture, etc) through seasonally themed art and sensory experiences. This is not a class focused on project outcomes (no cute cut & paste projects here!), this class is all about inviting children to delight in the experience of squishing clay, mixing colors, and splattering paint!
• Registration is for two classes (class are the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month)
Note: This class is structured for artists between the ages of 3 - 6 (some 2 year olds may be able to participate, at the discretion of the parent. Caregivers must stay with their artists. This class is not appropriate for young children who still put things in their mouths… paint does not taste good. Aprons are available in the studio, but dress your child for messes – think glitter, glue, paint and more.
