Students will learn the fundamentals of art as they explore a wide variety of mediums and art techniques. In this weekly 2-hour class, we will take inspiration from art history through the study of famous artists and practice using the Elements of Art (color, line, shape, value, form, texture and space) in projects inspired by famous art work. Students will be immersed in drawing, painting, fiber art, sculpting, and more as they create their own age appropriate portfolio of work in a variety of art styles. Classes are open to students in grades 1-6 and they will show off their hard work at an end of session Art Show!
Registration is for 8 weeks of classes (once per week). Cost includes art instruction, studio time, (16 hours) and all course supplies/materials. Classes are drop off and pick up. Aprons are provided in the studio, but please remind your child not to wear their favorite clothing – most supplies are washable, but stains happen!
